Get Involved We continue to encourage all members of Bethlehem to sign up for a month of Christian service so that we are sharing the ministry of Sunday Hospitality and getting everyone involved. We realize not all members will be able to participate do to health, employment responsibly, or other reasons, but all who are reasonably able we encourage you to choose a month in which to serve. If we do not hear from you we will assign you to a month.
To ensure worship services run smoothly we need a total of 24 volunteers every Sunday morning. Listed below are the different choices of duties for each Sunday. All of these duties are very important to having a successful worship service.
1. Responsibilities for Sunday Hospitality include: - Greeters – 2 people per service - Ushers – 4 people per service - Readers – 1 person per service - Communion Assistants – 2 people per service - Refreshment provider – 1-2 people per Sunday For a complete description of each job click on the link below.
2. Choosing a Month - All who are willing and able we ask you to choose a month to serve. If we don’t hear form you , then we will assign you to a month. - Filling out a Time & Talent form is your opportunity to choose your month of service and jobs you are willing to do. Time & Talent forms are distributed in October, during the Stewardship campaign, but are always available in the church office or on our website. Changes can be made at any time by contacting the church office.
3. The Notification Process - Two months before your selected/assigned month you will recieve a letter asking for your time & talents. Please contact the church office to volunteer, so that we may respect your time and decision of what jobs you are willing to do. Your participation is greatly appreciated and important to making this program a success. - One month prior a copy of the service grid will be mailed to you. If you are unable to serve in your selected/assigned area, please switch with someone and then contact the church office so it can be printed correctly. - One week prior to serving you will receive a reminder postcard.
We are convinced this process will work well. It is a fair process when everyone shares the welcome tasks. Please let us know your thoughtful and helpful suggestions as we make our way this year.
